DG Cheating and Exploitation Policy
1. Prohibited Behaviors and Consequences
Cheating is prohibited. Our policy identifies the types of behaviors and activities we consider to be cheating/exploitative, as well as the consequences for participating in exploitative behavior. These identified behaviors and activities may be expanded upon in the future.
- Prohibited Behaviors:
- Win-Trading: Collaborating with opponents to lose matches on purpose
- AFK (Away From Keyboard) Behavior: Players staying idle to gain rewards without active participation
- Multi-Accounting: Using multiple player accounts to enter competitions for unfair advantages
- Account Sharing: Multiple players using the same account
- Bug Abuse: Knowingly exploiting systems that are not working as intended
- Griefing: Throwing a match or intentionally playing badly
- Use of Third-Party Software: Using any sort of software which can affect or influence game outcomes
- Consequences:
- Win-Trading, AFK, Bug Abuse and Griefing Consequences:
- First Offense: Temporary suspension
- Repeat Offenses: Longer suspensions, account bans, and/or forfeiture of rewards/tokens
- Multi-Accounting Consequences
- First Offense: Forfeiture of tokens for any and all secondary accounts
- Second Offense: Banning of all accounts and forfeiture of all tokens
- Third-Party Software
- Player accounts found to be associated with the use of third-party software will be permanently closed without warning
- Win-Trading, AFK, Bug Abuse and Griefing Consequences:
2. Preventative Measures
We take preventative measures in-game to prevent players from exploiting game systems with AFK and win-trading actions.
- Anti-Cheat System:
- Our internal tracking system detects patterns of abnormal behavior
- We regularly audit match data to spot win-trading and multi-accounting
- Anyone found to be knowingly working around the anti-cheat system will be penalized accordingly
3. Reporting and Investigation Process
We must ultimately rely on our own assessment of allegations and observations to determine equitable player outcomes. To ensure that these decisions are fair to all players, we apply our in-client safeguards alongside player reporting, evidence collection, and investigation.
- Discord Reporting System:
- Players can report suspicious behavior directly on Discord
- Include tags like "Win-Trading", "AFK", or "Multi-Accounting"
- Players are encouraged to submit video clips or screenshots when reporting
- Players are encouraged to stick to the facts, and not to share any personal or private information
- Email Reporting System:
- Players can also report suspicious behavior via email at report@directivegames.com
- Include tags like "Win-Trading", "AFK", or "Multi-Accounting"
- Players are encouraged to submit video clips or screenshots when reporting
- Players are encouraged to stick to the facts, and not to share any personal or private information
- Evidence Collection and Investigation:
- Reported activity is weighted against logs of match behavior (e.g., duration, sudden changes in activity, player movements)
- Investigation Procedure:
- Checks for suspicious patterns (e.g., rapid point accumulation, consistent pairing with specific accounts)
- Human review of flagged cases, cross-referencing evidence from automated checks and player reports
- Player accounts may be suspended or blocked during the investigation procedure
4. Communication and Appeals
Both the penalties for suspicious behavior and the process for appealing a punitive decision must be transparent to the community. Players have a clear path to contest any punitive action which they feel may be in error.
- Transparent Penalty Guidelines:
- Guidelines are clearly published so that players understand what behaviors are considered cheating/exploitative, as well as the associated penalties
- Appeal Process:
- Players may appeal suspensions or bans by providing relevant information to appeal@directivegames.com
- Appeals are reviewed within a prompt timeframe to ensure fairness
5. Regular Updates and Community Engagement
We will continue to review and improve our internal anti-cheat measures to ensure that they are up-to-date with current game activity. This will be combined with periodic Q&A sessions with the community to gain additional insight about behaviors we may not be aware of or are taking into consideration.
- Regular Audit and Improvement of Anti-Cheat Measures:
- Regularly update rules and detection mechanisms based on emerging cheating strategies
- Updates and improvements to Anti-Cheat measures will be continuous and may occur without player notice
- Community Feedback:
- Host forums or Q&A sessions where players can voice concerns or suggestions related to fair play
